Performing ensemble "Proleter" is the oldest ensem¬ble founded in 1905 during austria-hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ensemble has been founded by Syndicate of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Proleter has been witness and participant in many political and social events in ex Yugoslavia taking side with workes in fight for their primary, human, social and working rights. It began with chorus section and developed activity in folk dance, brass music, dramatic, music section, school of ballet, modern dance etc.
It was one of the greatest ensembles in country, but also in many european countries and cities until agression 1992-1995. During the war, Proleter's rooms were in ruins. The war retarded planed ascension of this eminent ensemble, but thanks to leader's and member's enthusiasm, Proleter is present again in local and european scene of performing creativity. Proleter has got the biggest acknowledgments of city of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
